Nazan Koca

A technology scout and materials researcher with a PhD in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering. From developing sustainable, bio-derived packaging materials in the lab to scanning the horizon for emerging technologies at Bright Society on the High Tech Campus Eindhoven — always connecting science to what industry needs next.
What I do
Five practicesTechnology Scouting
Identifying and assessing emerging technologies for high-tech industry: technology landscaping, maturity assessment and connecting startups and academic research to corporate innovation roadmaps.
Polymer R&D
Developing bio-derived and compostable plastics — PLA, PBS, PHAs and starch blends — through compounding, cast and blown film extrusion, thermoforming and injection molding.
Materials Characterization
Making materials tell their story: thermal, mechanical, rheological and surface analysis with DSC, FTIR, tensile testing, capillary rheometry, AFM and SEM.
Sustainable Packaging
Advancing packaging with a smaller footprint: layer-by-layer barrier coatings, edible coatings for fresh produce and mechanical recycling of bioplastics with high recycled content.
Scientific Communication
Turning experiments into insight: peer-reviewed publications, technical production reports, conference presentations and statistically sound analysis (DoE, Minitab, OriginPro).
